About Me

Hi, I’m Maggie Dodson — the hands and heart behind Bite Me! By Maggie, a licensed cottage & home bakery in Oak Park, Illinois. Currently, I release a weekly special treat, available for pick-up on Fridays and Saturdays. All purchases are done through my website.

I have always loved to cook and bake - my happy place is the kitchen. My flame for baking and pastry was heavily fanned when shows like Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss ruled TV. I was extremely inspired by the artistry and creativity that goes into something striking. Since then, I became determined to create that magic myself — and I’ve been chasing (and refining) that dream ever since.

In May of 2018, I graduated from Joliet Junior College with a Culinary Arts Associates Degree and in the following December graduated with a Culinary Management Associates Degree. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science and Business Management from Grand Canyon University. I have been baking for 15+ years and professionally for 10 years. I have worked at restaurants in NYC, Chicago, and Cape Cod. I am confident in my work.

My baking style is all about natural, high-quality ingredients and excellent technique. I believe that great food starts with what goes into it. You’ll find familiar favorites here, but always with my personal twist. I love creating visually stunning treats that are well-balanced in flavor.

To me, baking is more than a recipe — it’s a craft, a comfort, and a way to share joy. I hope you’ll taste that in every bite.
